Weekly Update: Join Us for our Annual Summit

Mar 19, 2021

The Carers Scotland Annual Summit is coming up on 30th March 2021 and we would love for your to join us for this online event.

This year's Carers Summit will hear from Derek Feeley, Chair of the Independent Review of Adult Social Care on the review and what it means for carers. Jamie Livingstone from Oxfam Scotland will be joining us for a discussion on how Scotland makes care count.  The national carer organisations will also present the new carers manifesto, developed from the many views of carers, and our campaign for the Scottish Elections in May.

Finally Simon Hodgson from Carers Scotland will talk about plans for the year ahead. Following the speakers time will be time set aside for carers to chat together over a cuppa.

The event will be held on 30th March between 10.30am - 1pm on Zoom. Please click here to register your place.

In addition, this week we are still promoting the self-register service for carers Covid-19 vaccinations. This web portal went live on Monday and allows carers to register themselves to get a priority appointment for the coronavirus vaccine (if they have not yet received an appointment). We are urging all organisations in Scotland to share this information with your members of staff so that working carers can be protected and stay safe.

More information and the self-register portal itself is available here on the NHS Inform website.
