Carers Scotland and the Carer Positive team invite you to our Countdown to Carers Week 2026 online session on Thursday 14 May from 14.00-15.00 where you can find out more about this year’s theme Building Carer Friendly Communities from Fiona Collie, Head of Public Affairs and Communications at Carers Scotland.

Carer friendly communities recognise the vital role of the UK’s 5.8 million unpaid carers, including over 627,000 carers in Scotland, and take practical steps to support them in everyday life, addressing the many challenges caring can place on health, education, work, relationships and wellbeing.

By turning understanding into action, these communities make support visible and accessible wherever carers live, work, study or socialise, with small changes often making a big difference.
