Sending the Love to our Carer Positive Members

This week we saw both Carers of West Dunbartonshire and Childrens Hospices Across Scotland (CHAS) receive Carer Positive awards.

Carers of West Dunbartonshire received their Established level award on Monday and since this is level two award, it was fantastic to see how support for carers within the organisation has become well embedded in the culture of this workplace. From their application it was clear to see that Carers in the staff team and Board of Trustees are clearly involved in the review of support and policies, and the provision for carers leave has even recently enhanced.

On Thursday we welcomed a new organisation to the Carer Positive family when Childrens Hospices Across Scotland became recognised as a Carer Positive employer. CHAS already had a good foundation of support in place for working carers and the Carer Positive accreditation process simply helped review and formalise this. We were really pleased to see the work that has gone in to building this support and particularly the input from staff members with caring responsibilities themselves.
