Three employers receive Carer Positive awards!

We have had a busy week recognising new employers Hanover Scotland and Heriot-Watt University becoming recognised as Carer Positive, while West Lothian College moved up to an Established level award.

From their apllication, it is evident there is a strong workplace culture of empathy and understanding at Hanover Scotland, as well as a comprehensive package of support for members of staff with caring responsibilities in their home lives.

Heriot-Watt University also offers a comprehensive package of support for carers within the staff team, as well as for student carers at the University. Carers are actively encouraged and enabled to identify themselves to access this support, as well as wider health and wellbeing support and external help and information.

Finally, West lothian College have built upon the strong foundation of support previously in place at their Engaged level and it is great to see the support for carers continuing to develop and new measures put in place to help carers identify themselves. This is underpinned with good communication and awareness raising, as well as the up to date information on the Carers Leave Act and wider support provided by the College.
